HAVILAND STILLWELL RELEASES DEBUT ALBUM “HOW I ROLE” ON SEPT. 12
Special album release concert at Joe’s Pub
“Though she be but little, she is fierce.”
Broadway and Television’s “tight little ball of spunk, bad ass and class,” Haviland Stillwell will celebrate the release of her album, HOW i ROLE, in her debut(ante) concert at Joe’s Pub in New York City on September 12, 2010 at 7:30pm. Broadway audiences know Stillwell as an original cast member in the revivals of LES MISERABLES and FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. TV and film work includes the recent feature Lifetime movie THE CLIENT LIST (Lifetime, with Jennifer Love Hewitt), EASTWICK, SIX DEGREES, NOW AND THEN and BELOW THE BELTWAY.
An authentic Georgia peach, Stillwell was born in Savannah and graduated from The Paideia School in Atlanta before moving to NYC and graduating with honors from NYU. Now based in Los Angeles, she regularly performs concerts there including LA hotspots Eleven, Upright Cabaret, and Show at Barre. She also performed with Rosie O’Donnell for r family cruises, hosted the broadwayworld.com show FLIRT, a webseries with Riese from Autostraddle, and an abundant list of fun things happening that she can’t even talk about…YET. She is also a writer, teacher, activist, and advice giver, and you can read all about it on her website havilandstillwell.com and by following her on Twitter, @MissHaviland.
The album HOW I ROLE, produced and mixed by Michael Croiter and music directed, orchestrated, and arranged by Steven Jamail, is an Intergalactic Glam Pop frolic through seemingly different musical genres, using universal themes and the velvety chameleon voice of The Haviland (not to be confused with De Havilland) to remind us all of the reality of connectivity. This is abstract (if you want to go there)… and it’s also a really accessible, fun set of music, most of which you have definitely heard before – just not this way!
The set will also feature a surprise guest performance, original songs by Kristy Hanson and Diane Warren and covers of Heart, Lady GaGa, John Mellancamp, Bette Midler, Leonard Bernstein, Dolly Parton, Diana Ross, Gladys Knight, and Marilyn Monroe.
Tickets for the release concert at Joe’s Pub are just $15. Click HERE to purchase! Joe’s Pub is located at 425 Lafayette St., NYC. The album How i Role will be available for purchase at the show, as well as online.

This scene was cut from the movie but shows just the kind of person CAROL REED, played by Haviland Stillwell, truly is!

Haviland’s Debut Album How i Role will drop September 12, 2010! More details to come SOON!
A bit about the album:
HOW i ROLE, produced and mixed by Michael Croiter and musically directed, orchestrated, and arranged by Steven Jamail, is an Intergalactic Glam Pop frolic through seemingly different musical genres, using universal themes and the velvety Chameleon voice of The Haviland to remind us all of the reality of connectivity. This is abstract (if you want to go there)… and it’s also a really accessible, fun group of songs, most of which you have definitely heard before – just not like this! The eclectic song list includes “Midnight Train to Georgia,” “Glitter and be Gay,” “Crazy on You,” Lady GaGa’s “I Like it Rough,” and original songs by Kristy Hanson and Diane Warren.

Riese went back in time to edit a VLOG that we shot, oh, a year ago? We give a little bit of advice, but mostly, as per ushe, play with our hair and sunglasses and make grand sweeping statements about life.

I am so very proud of my friend, Miss Kristin Chenoweth, who stood up for her folleagues, in a brilliant, frank and passionate piece responding to the Newsweek article published this week.

I’m in Vancouver shooting a movie for Lifetime with Jennifer Love Hewitt and Cybill Shepard. This is my first time in Vancouver, and I couldn’t love it more! The people are so friendly, the scenery is gorgeous, and the air — can we talk about the clean air?
Here is a little preview of my character, Carol…The movie will air in July…more details to come!

We’ve had a very productive and creative week in the recording studio! We’ve laid down 8 of 11 tunes, and will finish the final three tonight, with very special guest Kristy Hanson! Have you gotten her new CD yet? If you haven’t, click here to purchase. My favorites are “Wrong Way” and “Crawl,” but they are all fantastic! We’re recording an original song that she wrote for me to sing called “Manage.” And thank God, she’s sticking around to add her talent to a couple of other tunes, as well!
I am exuberant to announce that none other than Broadway’s original ANNIE, (my favorite musical from ages 0-8), Andrea McArdle, is on my album! She and I sang a smokin’ duet – a GLEE-style Mash-up of two songs that sound amazing together, thanks to the genius arranging of Steven Jamail!
So, back to the studio tonight, and then working on a few vocal dubs tomorrow. This has been such a fun process. I found myself energized from dancing all day in my little booth. Yep, I DANCE through every song. It is effective and I hope you will be able to hear it in the sound! My first voice teacher, Beverly Blouin, told me that in recordings, people can hear it when you smile. She’s right!
